Toaster Ovens
After growing tired of traditional pop-up toasters, I bought a Black and Decker Countertop Toaster oven. I use it for toast, waffles, heating up leftovers (try old pizza with the convection oven settings), and baking cookies.

RE: Toaster Ovens
My regular oven has been out for nearly 2 years (and why it has been 2 years, I won't go into), so I finally found baking pans that are the right size for my toaster oven and since then, I've been able to make more than just stove top dinners. Any recipe using potatoes will take longer to bake, however dishes such as enchiladas, lasagna, and even baking cookies (my kids are soooo happy about that), take the same amount of time as a regular oven.

RE: Toaster Ovens
Used to have a B&D that could be mounted under the cabinet to free up counterspace. After it died, I was bummed to learn that the more recent versions are apparently a pain to mount. Ah well.

RE: Toaster Ovens
How are these compared to models from years ago? My wife and I had one when we first got married almost 18 years ago and it was not a good thing to use. Pizza too twice as long to cook and it burned food if we weren't careful.
Like anything, I'm sure they've improved. |

I think that I'm going to try to make homemade pizza in mine this week. Hopefully it'll work

RE: Toaster Ovens
I've had one for years. I cook everything from breakfast to yams, bakers and re-heating leftovers. The re-heats taste so much better than if you had "nuked" it. Mine is big enough to hold most baking pans and there are sets of pans you can buy just for the Toaster Oven.

RE: Toaster Ovens
today, I'm baking my son's birthday cake in my toaster oven. It's the first time I've ever made a cake this way, and I hope, really hope for my son's sake, that it turns out like it should
