What are you listening to?

I am very very happy that what is there is there. From Rush to Snakes and Arrows, all the live albums and all the compilations, I find something in every song. These three guys have been a lot of places with me, some of them were pinnacle moments in my life. So while we weave in and out of obsession musically, I want to say that I am thankful for every note and word they've put together.

Next Up, A Passage To Bangkok.

I always put the boys on when I am in a foul mood. If nobody is home, I turn the stereo on and crank it up. Otherwise it is my mp3 that gets the work out. Always changes my mood and disposition for the day.

Me too! I can't tell you the amount of commutes home I had blasted the boys. The worse my day was, the louder the stereo got. By the time I arrived home, life was soooo much better.

And it is blasted from the car stereo driving home from work in the morning. It keeps me awake and calms me from some of the horrendous nights we have.

I listened to Vapor Trails yesterday for the 1st time (I know). After reading this, I listened again today. I don't know what the criticisms were on the mix, but I thought it seemed a bit muddled-not as crisp as other albums. I'm talking about the mixing. The musicality, as always, was......ambitious. Their playing was tops. You could tell the changes Bubba went through in the lyrics, from downright CYNICAL to hopeful. They put an extraordinary amount of energy into the songs. I really enjoyed it.

After seeing the tour this year I pulled out the Moving Pictures the orginal CD I bought years back. It is still one of the best records (CD'S) ever.

That's one thing I miss about old vinyl records. Some amazing art came out of cover design.

Hugh is indeed a genius - He has done every cover for RUSH since 1975 (i think) and also has worked with Queensryche, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Whitesnake, Page and Coverdale, as well as large corporations....

I love VT, too. I love that the first thing you hear is Bubba's drums, strong and confident. I do notice the mixing issues but that doesn't stop me from listening.
