RE: What are you listening to?
Got some old Joe Satriani playing at the moment. Gawd, that guy can shred. It's hard not to be in awe of his technical ability. Jeezuz...

RE: What are you listening to?
A bunch of songs from 1960. I am compiling tunes for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. A whole lot of Motown! (When I say compiling, I mean purchasing each and every song...more money for the musicians = yay!)

I spent an afternoon, and later a Simon Phillips gig with a guy called Jan Cyrka, and was lucky enough to meet Simon, Andy Timmons, Ray Russell later and they were in awe of this bloke, who turned out to be an amazing guitar player, highly admired by Joe Satriani and Steve Vai - and througout the day I never knew he was a guitar God. Lovely bloke!! Funny old world aint it??? |

RE: What are you listening to?
Savoy Brown - "Leavin' Again"....guitar, guitar, guitar
Procol Harum - "Whiskey Train" This is the only song that makes me want to break things as I stumble over them Keef Hartley - "Leavin' Trunk" and "Born to Die". I think "Halfbreed" is one of the magnificent undiscovered moments in r 'n' r. Colosseum Live...The whole album. But you have to be ready to listen. Shortest song is 7 1/2 minutes... Sniff 'n' the Tears - "Driver's Seat"...I dare you to drive under the speed limit while listening to this song. So many more...sigh...I freaking love my music and life is good. Sacred cows make the best hamburgers. I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughtnut... I don't need a receipt for the doughnut. I give you money and you give me the doughnut, end of transaction. We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. I can't imagine a scenario that I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut. To some skeptical friend, 'Don't even act like I didn't get that doughnut, I've got the documentation right here... It's in my file at home. ...Under "D".' |

RE: What are you listening to?
Whoa dude! Thats heavy!!!
Who in their right mind packs a solar powered radio but NOT a solar powered cell phone anyways? I mean....geez. But....and I know I will probably BURN for this one. "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" by Stevie Ray Vaughn. I could have picked about anything, but Stevie played with so much passion, I would want the feeling to last a long while, and I would want to "feel" that music as much as hear it. I know....'what about'.....but its a song I dont hear that much of but one that spurs raw doggone emotion from me because of who he was and how he played. Buddy Guy said once that Stevie played the blues "Like it SHOULD be played - you have to play with your heart and soul and give 120%, you can't play the blues with 99.5%". And yeah - it was just a remake, but its one of those to me sounded AS good as Jimi's version. But I couldn't request JUST ONE! At LEAST let me throw in one from the boys too!!!! Music is like donuts - I just can't stop at one. Your turn!!! For You Steve & Monica - Your Love will forever shine on in our hearts!!!
