The Pet Peeve

RE: The Pet Peeve
I think Rey is onto something... maybe cars bring out the "heart of a lonely hunter" and that civilized veneer is left at the door. Pretty sad. Though I admit that, like Philip, I use some less-than-nice language when confronted with tailgaters. I also tap my brakes enough to light the brake lights. If that doesn't work, I just keep on driving and let them fume.

Hey Nawlins, how about "tempachure" or "hunnerd"? Gah!

... in a world where I feel so small I can't stop thinking big!

RE: The Pet Peeve
I don't know if I mentioned this before, but one of my pet peeves is when people walk along or ride their bikes along the side of the road, at night, wearing all dark clothes and no lights or reflective devices. I usually see them (barely) while driving home from church on rural roads, on which the speed limit is 55 mph. I never see them until they are literally 5-10 feet away.

I need to get one, then I can let the kids use it when coming across these folks! It'll be the most fun they've had with their mom in a long time! LOL

RE: The Pet Peeve
Ok... my biggest pet peeve is people who are just plain MEAN, especially to people with special needs. It happens frequently when I'm out in public with my clients. I actually had one man walk up to me and say "You should keep those retards at home. No one wants to see them in public!" Well excuse ME!!! They are people just like everyone else. He wasn't even disturbing anyone, just walking down the walkway. REALLY! Just because people are uncomfortable with people with special needs doesn't mean you should be mean to them!
(Getting off my soapbox now.)

Intolerant of Intolerance.

Oh! That hacks me off! As the parent of a special needs kid, that kind of person makes me want to grab them by the roots of their hair and recede their hairline, and let them know that THEY are the ones that shouldn't be out in public! (of course, I wouldn't really do that........maybe).
