The Eagle has landed!
Had to share this one. Let me know if I'm at the wrong spot as I am a newbie.
We are traveling north on I-75 in norhthern MI when a Sharp-shinned hawk perched on a tree to the left right outside my window takes off and flies next to me for a few secs before our speed overtakes him. A beautiful sight indeed. He was within about ten feet of the rig. A short while later a bald eagle soars across the road from left to right in front of us.A few crows scatter from a deer carcass off the road. The eagle lands and stares us down as we pass. Magnificent! Cool

Very cool!! Where in northern MI? Haven't traveled north of Flint in a while. A nice summer trip might be in order.

Seems there are a lot of us who like to go up there.
I love the western end of the U.P.

RE: The Eagle has landed!
I was standing on the MI-Ohio border about a month ago wondering what keeps me going north. Still haven't figured that one out. Must be in my blood.
Now a week ago Lorna and I are headed back from Detroit/NOVI (#5 spot on the Pony Express) about five miles north of West Branch and I see what I think is a hawk circling ahead to the right of the road. Sure enough another carcass on the right this time surrounded by crows and lo-and-behold two magnificent bald eagles standing next to each other. As we passed they both looked up and then at each other as if to say "did you see that". Kinda reminded me of the two muppet guys in the gallery. This was in the middle of last weeks snowstorm that blew through. Needless to say it took my mind off of the treacherous conditions, if even for a brief moment. What a brutal winter it's been. (To say the least)
