RE: What are you listening to?
I drove from Boston to Philly this morning (via the Tappan Zee bridge; I HATE the George Washington and 95). Whilst cruising 84 and 287, I reacquainted myself with A Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres. Wow, I'd forgotten how good "Cinderella Man" was. And, the improvements in playing and recording from one to the other were palpable, too.
On the trip home, it'll be Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures. I jumped the cliff with a dream to fly Without knowing the weight of feathers |

It goes without saying that Bubba's writing is second to none in many circles, but I'm continually amazed how relevant and timeless it can be. In particular, Witch Hunt: Quick to judge, Quick to anger, Slow to understand Ignorance and prejudice and fear walk hand in hand. This reminds me of the rather bitter, partisan wrangling in the US Congress and Senate related to the budget crisis and raising the debt ceiling. RE: What are you listening to?
Right at the moment I'm listening to Coldplay's Trouble. I love the simple haunting melody and the lyrics are really well written.
I'm taking a ride with my best friend...I hope he never lets me down again. |
