RE: The April Brewhaha thread
Nope - personally I am a little more interested in the driver of the ST1...something about a redhead? But hey - if she needs a companion, bring Sheriff ...ow you gotta be kidding. WOODY?

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
Hmm...if we are going to be sampling those types of goodies (sorry to say I'll pass on the Green Fairie Juice--not a licorice fan) Boomer I may have to ask LuluBelle if she'd be as so kind as to carry in vehicle'de Boomer some glass type liquid vessels to part take the liquids from. Or Smoker if Mrs. Smoker and Woody would also be so kind as to carry such needed glassware.
If you can't play by OUR rules take your toys and go home!!

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
Already on it dear. We'll be discussing some of our weekend planning session later. No problem, as I think we'll need to probably have a cooler for the "Bar" as it were.

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
Ok folks - Below is our proposal to you all at the B 'n' G forum for the planned tour of Wisconsin. Please review the information contained and post your thoughts.
This past weekend I met with Mr. and Mrs. 2Beers in an effort to organize and develop some planning for what has been dubbed the “April Brewhaha” motorcycle ride through Wisconsin. The original concept for this came out of discussion on the BB ‘n’ G forum about touring together in some central location that would be convenient and reachable for as many as possible. A big thank you goes to Mr. and Mrs. 2Beers for taking time out to develop a basic route and then meeting to discuss, revise, and exchange ideas in the hopes of bringing ideas in based on their knowledge of the routes we could take. I would remind everyone of two things. First, this plan is for the enjoyment of anyone who wishes to participate whether you ride a motorcycle or not. Second, this plan may be subject to change given weather conditions, road conditions, or any unforeseeable event which may cause the final schedule to be amended in any way. This is not a “sanctioned” event, but rather a plan to give us all an opportunity to meet with each other and enjoy ourselves. It is to those goals that we brought this plan together, and after you have had an opportunity to review this outline, we would welcome any suggestions you might have to make this plan even better. Dates: After much discussion, it was apparent to us that in order to achieve our best results using Mr. and Mrs. 2Beers as our lead and guide on this trip, we came to the decision of holding this beginning May 9th and ending May 12th. Their attendance will be crucial to the success of this trip given their work schedules, weather conditions that may be present, and the time of year. Our hope is to avoid the possibility of running into snow on the trip, and avoid the impending tourist season which brings out the “worst” after the Memorial Day weekend here in the States. If we held it in April, we run a higher risk of snowfall particularly in the northern half of Wisconsin, but if we held it later in May, we run into the tourist season, school graduations, and a host of other events we wanted to avoid. That left us with two options, and after much discussion we came to the conclusion this was our best option to maximize the potential for having an enjoyable trip. Routes: Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. 2Beers for taking the time to lay out the basics of a great route for this trip. We must remind everyone that these routes can be revised and we are wide open to suggestions to that end to make this even better. The routes are based off of the requirement that we not attempt to take routes that are a particular challenge to the average motorcyclist, but allow us to maximize the scenic views of the routes and allow for stops to visit places that may be of historical or environmental significance. We have also chosen to create two plans based on the first draft of the route plan. This allows us some flexibility in the case of inclement weather or any unforeseen circumstance which might force us to shorten our trip. Click on the links provided below to review these routes. PLAN I Day One – Prairie Du Chien to Eau Claire 220 miles Map 1 Day Two – Eau Claire to Phillips 316 miles Map 2 Day Three – Phillips to Escanaba OPTION A 235 miles Map 3-Option B Day Three - Phillips to Escanaba OPTION B 293 miles Map 3-Option B Day Four – Escanaba to Theresa 288 miles Map 4 PLAN II Day One – Prairie Du Chien to Eau Claire 220 miles Map 1 Day Two – Eau Claire to Escanaba 315 miles Map 2 Day Three – Escanaba to Theresa 288 miles Map 3 Lodging/Meals: Once we nail down our route, Mrs. Boomer (aka Lu Lu Belle) will sit down with her trusty laptop and get to work developing an outline of the various spots for lodging and meals. Some of you might bring your campers, however some may not have access to a camper and will require hotel accommodations. Each segment of each route also has the ability to be rerouted in the event of any unforeseen event such as snow, rain, or the need for gas or food. Final Thoughts: These plans were developed based on your input. Each leg is approximately 300 miles, and does encompass room for stops of points of interest, as well as getting in some scenic riding through Wisconsin. Keep in mind this is just a plan right now and as we get further along we might see options to change or routes to change depending on various factors. This plan has been brought together for the benefit of anyone in the B ‘n’ G community, riders and non riders alike. Review these routes using the links provided. Your input is vital to the success of this trip! For You Steve & Monica - Your Love will forever shine on in our hearts!!!

It looks like on both plans, you will be going near Peshtigo. Have you planned to stop at the Fire Museum?

Sigh...my attendance is questionable at this point due to class schedules. HOWEVER, if there is any way I can make this work out, I will...

Whoa-ho.....MAPS! Maps maps maps....I dig the Google variety, but this vast amount of info requires me to default to the analog [read: paper] version in order to digest ever-ting......
Hmmmm. Coordinating w/kiddos' school days will be tricky. Plus, the younger daughter's b-day falls within the proposed travel dates. Think think think..... You folks have done a tremendous amount of planning! I certainly appreciate your effort and hope that we can somehow make our participation come to fruition! Blah blah blah....yada yada yada! |

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
This is just a plan - a proposal and we certainly welcome any suggestions anyone has. When we discussed dates there were obstacles we knew were there on every side. Remember this is NOT set in stone.
