RE: Monica's Thread
Thanks guys... Sorry to disappoint you Nettie, but it's a Chevelle.. But I do like Nova's also, especially a Yenko with a 427 under the hood..
By the way Gunga, when is Cuddly Brutus gonna hit the road? Would have been nice to have him down in Mexico with tres amigos... |

What I plan on doing at the end of the project, is to do a little write up about the history of the car and details of the build and maybe put it in a blog or something (stay tuned). I don't want to bore everybody on the board, but basically it was a frame-off restoration, replacing every nut, bolt, bushing etc. I've basically brought it back to stock specifications except for a few little goodies that have been done to the engine. It's too bad that y'all can't see it in person, because pictures truly don't give the paint job justice. I blew the bank on this one (for better or for worse) The paint is a Lamborghini Giallo Orion Mic 2CT 3 stage pearl done in 8 coats that my paint guy laid on beautifully (I'll never own a Lamborghini, but at least I can say I have a car that's the colour of one). As you can see by the accompanying picture, I was fooling myself in thinking that this would only take 3 years (way too much work for a weekend warrior) This has been the first time I've attempted a project of this magnitude and I think it will be my last - I just want to drive it now... ![]() P.S. - I was really hoping it wasn't going to rain, getting the body from the sandblasting place back home. Water + bare metal = RUST... |

RE: Monica's Thread
I can hardly wait to read that, but finish her up and crank it! Thats your best reward for such an exsquisite machine. No wonder it took you so long. Looks like a total frame-off resto, and for a weekend warrior - thats a monumental undertaking. My dad did a Mustang a few years ago like that - similar color too, but sold it off to make room for the Corvette.
Thats a great looking machine. Great job - maybe a burnout vid would give us motorheads something to really drool over! For You Steve & Monica - Your Love will forever shine on in our hearts!!!

RE: Monica's Thread
Absolutely stunning! Man I am seriously impressed in the work you've done with that car. You are one dedicated man Steve!
Isn't there some sort of ancient rule of the Interwebs that says you post a car this cool you have to take everyone for a ride in it? Cause I am pretty sure there is. At least I really really hope there is.
Oh Bleat! |
