RE: Birds and Butterflies
Well there you go! Good eyes. Just back from a 4 hour meander out back: 4 turkeys, a deer, ticks, mosquitoes, and various resident birds of the forest.

I watched hummingbirds sip nectar from the feeder at my In-Laws this morning, while I sipped a nice dark roast coffee.

I saw a flock of geese flying south this afternoon.
It was cold, but not that cold! I can only assume that they were headed to one of the
local parks, in search of water and food.

A doe crossed my path as I left for work on my block. I rarely see them here. Interesting little bird at the feeder-larger than a finch but shaped like one with a rosey head and neck. Feeding on nyjer

VU - sounds like a purple finch or a rose-breasted grosbeak.
And the doe that crossed my path last night almost got creamed!

I had a nice surprise while l was running today. I had a nice size doe come out of the woods no more than ten feet in front of me, stopped and gave me a look, then trotted across the path and disappeared back into the trees. Smile

They are so beautiful as long as we don't hit them with cars or motorcycles!
