Change of season

We used to have "kids" come in from Savannah Tai Kwan Do Academy... all pumped up and brainwashed on what they had been taught by the local "experts"... sporting their flashy outfits and belts all neatly tied. We called em "flash fighters".
They were of the mindset that because they spent big bucks there, they were good fighters.

Our gym was on the third floor of a bar... that should give some idea of what was taught up there. Kempo - most damage you can do - shortest amount of time - close enough to kiss em'. K-Mart parking lot fighting.
These twerps would step in and want to fight our guys on their level... the problem was.. we didn't issue belts... we learned to stay alive in life-threatening situations... not points fight. Well - we got points for making the other guy tap... that's about it. We didn't fight on any of their "levels". So we would take them on judging them by their belts (purple, blue, black.. whatever). I have a pic around here somewhere of me tapping out a kid on punches - that's disgraceful on the mat... so it made it that much sweeter =)
I have a hard time with braggarts that can't back it up, no matter what it's about.

Maybe you should have tied the belt around their legs. Less likely to use the darn thing as intimidation.

Starting whenever you want. If I can lost 67 pounds in 1 year from just dietary change then you should be able to make it stick with some small changes of your own. I have no idea what my weight is, but just a goal - drop 2 pant sizes.....dont even worry about pounds. I had to see my pants literally falling off me before I realized I was actually losing the weight. I'm still big....but if you saw me last year you would see the difference.

You CAN do it - just be positive, smart, and be stubborn about it. Dont let pier pressure get to you just be stubborn about it. Thats how I quit the beer and the plates of chicken wings....and trust me - I could make plates of wings disappear into thin air!

Gave up the sauce 11,495 hours ago that's 1.31 years ago or 15.74 months or 479 days ago. Which ever way is easier. So the beer is long gone. It's gone and it's never coming back
