RE: What are you listening to?
RIP Gerry Rafferty...I remember drinking in a bar in Fort Lauderdale in 1979. The love of my life at the time had left me after 7 years together. Dos Equis with Cuervo chasers, one after the other as I fed money into the juke box and played this one song over and over and over again. They had to ask me to leave as I was bumming out the whole bar. Still can't listen to this song without choaking back tears.
http://www.kincardineshireobserver.co.uk...y_1_440100 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sedPivIxfM Sacred cows make the best hamburgers. I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughtnut... I don't need a receipt for the doughnut. I give you money and you give me the doughnut, end of transaction. We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. I can't imagine a scenario that I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut. To some skeptical friend, 'Don't even act like I didn't get that doughnut, I've got the documentation right here... It's in my file at home. ...Under "D".' |

I have to say AMEN to that man. I loved his music and his voice was like smooth as silk. I was soo bummed out to hear of his passing. What a talent and what a loss. Way before his time if you ask me.

RE: What are you listening to?
The song that gets me every time is "Mother". That song has about 5 different meanings to me, all of which involve atleast a tear. That was my soul searching song when my bac hit about .18%.
I think I got alot of hard times figured out because of Pink Floyd. Don't talk smack about Total!! |

RE: What are you listening to?
Recently I re-discovered one of my fav prog-rock bands of the 1970's.
Gentle Giant Freehand still kicks from 1978. Crap, I must be old. "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain |
