Hi Folks...
Basically stumbled in here by accident...
Earlier in the year I was picking off a few bucket list roads, routes, goatilicious goat trails, etc., in Norcal with 2 of my best riding buddies. After one particularly arduous day we found ourselves on a rugged and secluded stretch of Mendocino county coastline, reclining in the sand watching the combers roll in, and passing around a bottle of single malt to celebrate an epic day. Things started getting philosophical and the conversation soon turned to simpler times in our lives, as well as those things that trigger fond memories of those times. Music was(and still is to some extent) a huge part of my formative years, and I expressed an appreciation for a trio of fellows from up north. The guy who hits things with sticks in particular. It was then that I was informed that this gentleman had written a few books that I might find interesting. I mentioned I'd look into it, and the conversation(and consumption) continued until we were treated to a spectacular Norcoast sunset. Flash forward 4 days. I return to home base and find a package had been delivered in my absence. It contained 3 books which I enjoyed immensely and consequently devoured with a quickness. So, I get on the interwebz in an effort to find any other works by this gentleman(which I found), and come across this site. What the???? A site full of people who like the things I like? -A bone deep belief that good food lovingly prepared, and shared with family and friends is foundational to doing life right? Check... -A life long love affair with all things moto? Check... -An affinity for uisge beatha? Check... -Voracious reader(though in an admittedly narrow spectrum)? Check... -Being profoundly affected in my youth(continuing to this day) by the music of three Canucks? Check... And all this without the misinformation, disinformation, inane commentary, and downright mean people I've experienced on similar sites? Wow... I've already learned a few things while lurking around on your site, and hope to contribute something of value in the future. Best Regards, Sunset To ask why we cook is to ask why the leaves fall... |

RE: Hi Folks...
Hello Sunset,
Welcome indeed mate. If you like food / wine / beer and crap Brit Jokes you have come to the right place. See you around the Grill - maybe have a pint later at the bar. She looked at me and rolled those big brown eyes and said, "Oh, I would do it all for you, `cos you`re a Rocker" |

Cheers KBB - I was reflecting on my audience on the Jokes Thread and my rather good Jazz Chord Joke (that bombed) .......But, I am very grateful for CD and Lanix for giving me some rep points because they like Brit Humour.......Permission to shout hooray at a very loud and annoying volume........ HOORAY

RE: Hi Folks...
Everyone can contribute something of Value here!
And by the way I know what you mean by those three Canucks!
To me you're a genius, to O'Malley you're a genius, but to a genius you're no genius! |

Hi Sunset and welcome, we're glad you're here!
