Hawaii anyone?

Hawaii anyone?
I'm in the midst of making plans for another circumnavigation of the globe and Hawaii is on my list of destinations.

A few bits of Hawaii I'd like to see include Pearl Harbour, active volcanoes, Mauna Kea Observatories, snorkeling & deep sea fishing among other things.

Has anybody on the board been there? What would you recommend?

RE: Hawaii anyone?
I'll second that Nettie - Lots of good info there that helped Monica and I out when we were there back in February.
When were you thinking of being there OHR? I can probably help you out also with some things to do and not do whilst there.
Hopefully I'll have a little more time here in a bit, once we get Monica settled down again and I can throw some ideas out there.
I also know that Scythe Matters is our resident Hawaii expert. Hopefully she will chime in also...

Snorkeling is a must, there is a bird sanctuary on Oahu by Malaekahana Bay. If you can catch time of Whale migration-thats a great thing. Also make sure you have water shoes- it is a must have with you thing. The Dole plantation- YUM!!! Not sure which island(s) you are going to- please look up hiking trails for whatever island you are going- its beautiful and warm and so worth seeing every bit you can.

RE: Hawaii anyone?
I've been to Hawaii four times. With each visit, I have managed to go to
Kauai. Kauai is used for many sequences that we see in the film industry.
On Kauai, the must see places are Princeville and Hanalei.
If you can afford a helicopter tour of that region all the better. Hiking
the Napali coast has always been a dream of mine.
In my opinion, one hasn't really seen Hawaii unless they visit this area.
On Maui, Hana is also the must, one of the most beautiful places on the
planet.
Just my two cents; hope it helps.

Agree! Road to Hana and Haleakala on Maui for sure. Northshore Oahu is pretty awesome too.
