Ocean Shores, WA
Ren Man and I are actually going to take the Vapor Trailer out this weekend. We're headed out to Ocean Shores for an overnighter. Do some beachcombing - things washing up from Japan - some walking, some eating at the great Irish Pub there (owned by Katie's friend's father).

Will report back Sunday night with pictures and, who knows, maybe something exciting we find on the shore. Big Grin

Enjoy your weekend. I hope the sound of the crashing of the water on the shores is as relaxing for you as it is for me when I hear Superior's.

RE: Ocean Shores, WA
And we're back. We are using air mattresses - like those "extra beds" they sell for you to inflate for company - and they are really comfortable. One reason Barry wanted to get this is that I seldom get a good night's sleep on hotel beds. For some reason they all seem to have beds that are on a second career after being used as torture devices. One time it was so bad I had to sleep in the bloody chair! Since we anticipate another CPT show at the Gorge next summer, and even if we weren't we want to go to all the cool places around us, Barry decided we would control the bed so that we could both get a decent night's sleep.

Last night, once the folks in the RV next door finally decided to stop herding cattle or whatever the heck they were doing that sounded that way, we fell asleep to the sound of the ocean waves (not roaring, so probably much like the waves of Superior, 2B). Very nice. Before that, though, we went to our favorite eating spot in Ocean Shore - the Galway Bay Pub. Dani's father wasn't there, though. However we had a nice meal of pub grub and some live entertainment. Then we laid out on a blanket for a little while watching the meteor shower - great night sky out there! Then played a little guitar, read a story from Bubba's latest book and lights out. It would have been perfect save for the hell that is other people. Wink

We had a nice walk on the beach this morning, then set out for home around 1:00. We stopped in Aberdeen for lunch at this great place called Duffy's - again with the Irish theme!. They were pretty good for the "family restaurant" genre. Why does it always seem to take less time to get home that it did to get there? So weird. Anyway, we're back with nobody and nothing worse for the wear.

I got a little artsy with that one Wink

The RV park we stayed at is owned by the Quinault tribe and it was very reasonable and clean. A tad crowded together but otherwise amenable. Nice folks, too.

I have to say that it was torture on the way home to pass all those garage sales and we couldn't stop! Dodgy
