RE: Scotch and food pairings?
Whereas they have had Batch 41 at my store for awhile. That is the great thing about Single Barrel whisky...each one is a bit different.

The bottle I got around Christmas had already been discontinued when I purchased the last one from the shelf. I noticed the other day that a new batch has already taken its place. I had batch 46 last, they are already up to 47.

No cause for alarm!

Understood...I began my A'bunadh journey @ batch 39.Wink

RE: Scotch and food pairings?
What IS hard (impossible) is the cask strength The Macallan. THAT has been impossible for almost a year...what the heck happened to it? (It is rumored that it all went to China; that is a very real problem for us nowadays...China has a huge, growing appetite for all spirits.)

Sorry to break it to you, better sooner than later.

"This year wasn’t without its unfortunate whisky news, with the Macallan Cask Strength being discontinued this year. "

There was an interview with someone from their distillery where they confirmed it. I need to find a link.

I picked up a bottle of Glenfarclas 12 yesterday, amazing!

Snifl....Snifl!!!! So long MAcallan CS.

I guess I better get on that Aberlour Cask. Unfortunately most rarer malts are just not available here. The distributors in this area simply wont get something that may not sell. Cask strength, 1/4 cask, etc are all smaller productions of whiskys that the distillers use to bring more flavors to their malts. Many of those are very enjoyable albeit short lived. So I guess the big question is: Where can I find the Aberlour?
