Oregon info request
You guys really did me an informational solid re Utah, so i humbly return to the font.

6 days. I figure 4.5 days of pure exploration with .5 days return trip/minor exploration combo. I'm pretty sure I want to include:
-Crater lake
-The coast between Brookings and Coos Bay
-A one night stay in Willamette Valley near whichever Pinot Noir winemaker gets the nod

We're in the ragtop again, so no dirt. And I have a bone deep and abiding love of good food and comfy beds.

Gladly accepting any/all advice from the Grill collective.Smile

*edit*
Diamond Lake and Mt Washington area now in the running

RE: Oregon info request
Ok. One of the girls can't remember her password here and couldn't get in, so I'll paraphrase what she said. Most of the info is for the Eugene area.
Mary's Peak west of Corvallis. From the top, you can see the 3 Sisters to the East and the Pacific Ocean to the West. She said to bring hand sanitizers, as the restrooms have no sinks.
Food in Eugene: Ambrosia, Mucho Gusto, or Mazzi's
Stay in Eugene: Inn at the 5th, or River Valley Inn
Wineries: King Estate Winery, or Sweet Cheeks Winery
Microbreweries: Ninkasi, Oakshire, or Hop Valley

One of the other girls said she'd get back on this when she could. Scooter is also riding thru Oregon and would let you know what she's found. This will get you started planning! Have fun!

RE: Oregon info request
Well, thanks to some guy's writings I was fortunate enough to receive a distant early warning re my proposed route around the east rim of Crater Lake. After a few phone calls it seems east rim is out of the question, though west rim will probably be in play. Not a game changer for sure, but I would have been pretty damn annoyed to show up and find my plans had been changed without my permission. The nerve!

Thanks again for the down low. Crater via Dead Indian Rd and Lake of the Woods. Wilamette Valley Pinot tasting from Lorane to McMinnville(incl. King Estate[fantastic dining experience] as well as the Cheeks of Sweetness). Sunset hwy up to Astoria. Then down the coast.

It is nice, isn't it?

I took notes re moto routes as we covered much of the western 1/3 of the State and will return on 2 wheels someday. Hopefully with time to explore the other 2/3.
