RE: Gardening.....
Ahhh....I've been known to swip one of Mr.2Beers drills and assorted bits to do some pumpkin designing(or massacring). My Girls on the other hand are excellent at the freehanded carving.

I think there's something special about the freehand carve too!

Yep. Five of them. Rio, Freckles, Sunny, Freebie and Bean (see what we did thar?).

I do both. But I really do like the patterns. There's no way I could do some of the more complex ones without a stencil. I usually carve but I tried etching the other day. This one I did freehand. You might recognize the logo Wink

I went with a simple one for my first try. I just did a face on an acorn squash tonight but it didn't come out very well. I have a large pumpkin awaiting my decision about what to do to it. Also, I have a pineapple I need to carve into a killer tiki to win a prize package from my favorite TV show. That's gonna be a messy one! I'll show you the result....

Nice one Scythe! I saw one year where someone did a big punkin' with all 3 of da' boys sillouettes(sp?) on it, I think it was from the Signals inner sleeve, but it came out cool! I haven't carved one for a few years now, but I think I've just been inspired to try one this year! (4 trick or treaters last year!?)

Nice, Scythe! Cool about the alpacas too. Do you spin their wool? I learned to spin with alpaca wool, and moved to Border Leistershire. Fun.

If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes...

You people have way too much time on your hands! LOL, just kidding. I love all the things we create (songs, poems, food), build (bunny huts, model railroads) and carve (RUSH pumpkins and paint gun grips).

As far as gardening...

10/20 and begonia are still looking great. Leaves really turning now. I'm hoping to get out there this weekend after our drum lesson.

RE: Gardening.....
I haven't tried spinning the alpaca wool yet. I have cards to clean and card it but I need some more bobbins for our spinning wheel.

I etched the big pumpkin tonight. I'll get the pics dealt with tomorrow. I'm waiting until then to do the pineapple, too. It's going to be messy and I want Ren Man to help me.

Take some pics, Vincent, ok?

I'm sorry for the size -- I don't know how to make them smaller. Huh
