The Nag-Thread

RE: The Nag-Thread
Having a birthday in the first two weeks of May, I can tell you that it is ALWAYS cold and rainy in Central Illinois around that time. My Mom was just resigned to indoor birthday parties when I was younger. And my birthday occasionally falls on Mother's Day, too. Everyone is always like "It's MAY! What's up with the weather?" And I always say "Just wait until a week and a half after the 12th, it will warm up. And it always does..."

I've had problems with one of my neighbours recently - he kept shooting at my collies with a pellet gun. No matter what I did, he kept on. I had him arrested and that still didn't slow him down (interestingly... the police couldn't touch him for trying to shoot my dogs but he was witnessed shooting at pigeons and THAT is against the law...). It finally ended when me and my baseball bat paid his car a visit one evening...

So he (seemingly) left me alone. One of my dogs died a month ago so I just have my 5 year old now. We were just playing catch in the garden when HALF A BRICK landed on my patio table! I didn't see where it came from but I'm convinced it was him... Police on the way again...

I would expect this if I lived in town but I live in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere. I don't even know this guy; he moved in about a year ago and doesn't talk to the neighbours. I am unsure if he picks fights with anyone else or if he's just got an issue with me. Dunno why he would though. I'm absolutely lovely...

AND!!! It's cold and dull and I need to get my pasty skin a healthy colour. Couldn't even go in the garden if I wanted to...

The neighbor behind me called animal control on me several years ago and told them my dog was dead in the back yard. He wasn't and I confronted her, and she said we didn't mean to get you in trouble, why would she say that? Because she told animal control I have 4 dogs (technically only 3 are allowed but as long as they are well cared for and not vicious they don't bother you). She just wanted to rat me out. My 4th dog is a Husky aptly named By-Tor, whom I rescued. He was tied to a tree with no food or water, he had a woman's belt around his neck as a collar and he was being choked by it and he was standing in his own feces. I couldn't leave him there. So, for 3 years I have been taking 2 of my dogs out front so she doesn't see them. The kicker, she had 4 dogs for over a year.

I don't like it when I hold the door open for someone else to come through, and they have to touch it anyways, like I might suddenly slam it on them or something.

Most certainly this would be a very upsetting scenerio for me being a huge dog lover. If I was in your shoes I would want any and all copies of the police reports starting with the first time a report was made to the last. If the police records clerk doesnt comply, a freedom of information act can be applied for at your county office building. I would also be quick to contact the court where this man was arraigned for the charge and obtain an order of protection. At least if another brick comes flying over the wall, it will force the "cops" to do thier job more efficiantly and with a little more encouragement, ie; court order.
keep an eye out for radiator fluid. big time killer for dogs. dogs are attracted to this and will consume a lot of it quickly because it tastes sweet to them. It is not illeagal to photograph or video from your own property regardless of where your taping. unless of course it violates a child or other such instances where common scene applies. so tape your own property if need be, in the "war zone area". nothing beats video evidence.

RE: The Nag-Thread
Thanks for your advice re my crazy neighbour. It's kind of all over now... He broke into my house early the other morning and I gave him the beating of his life... I guess he thought as a lone woman I would be an easy target but it just so happens that I have a bit of a temper... He is now awaiting trial and he is not allowed to walk past my house on my side of the street anymore (don't think he wants to either...).

As for the nag thread...

I live in the UK but spend a lot of the year in LA (where I went to uni). I banked with WaMu for like 10 years before they went under and then Chase took control of my account. I don't keep much money in there (until I am about to travel out there and then I will transfer in a few thousand dollars to reduce the exchange fees I have to pay). I do, however, transfer about $10 a month into the account, just to keep it active. Chase only send me statements every three months and I got one Monday to discover they had emptied my entire account for "fees"... What fees??? I have a free checking account. I'm going to get my money back... it's principle... I don't want to bank with them anymore, though, so I now have the hassle of setting up a new account when I am next out there. Grr!

My rant is that every time I start exercising I injure something and have to stop. I did something to my ankle yesterday, and now I have to rest it when I've only been exercising for a week or two. Sad

RE: The Nag-Thread
I can't complain about the weather (maybe in a few weeks when the extremely high temperatures come into play) but today, my boss is my #1 complaint. I won't go it into detail because I need my paycheck so I can buy and listen to more music to escape his wrath. Passive-aggressiveness and Power simply do not mix in the workplace or in life for that matter! Peace.

Ugh. I have Familial Mediterranean Fever and today is a bad day... Plus it's raining but not heavy enough to do any good for the garden. Going to sit down with some chamomile and vanilla tea and spend excessive amounts of money on designer shoes on ebay...

Last time I was in emergency in the hospital (not for me, I was attending to a friend) virtually every other person in the emergency ward was there because of some injury resulting from exercise. A broken leg here, busted ribs there, sunstroke here, hyper-extended ankle there.

Seems to me that if you're getting the inclination to exercise, jog to the fridge, get a beer and some chips and enjoy some mindless drivel on TV. Safer that way. Blush

Winners visualize the results of success and live in abundance.

I'd like to do that, but then I'd start gaining back the weight I lost! I still don't know what I did to it, but an ace bandage and some stretching helped. Just gotta go slow at my age I guess.
