Sauteed collard greens and spinach with vindaloo seasoning and some mashed sweet potatoes. Whoopee. Confused

If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes...

Last night I made a whole mess of chicken wings...bbq (for the wimps in the house, hot wings, and xtra hot wings for my self. We had 3 maybe 4 left. I told my 12 y.o. I was going to charge him 50 cents a wing. He told me he would be broke by the end of dinner. I guess he was right.

RE: What's for dinner, honey?
Billie finally let me "take the helm" as it were and let me make us dinner last night. We had these Cornish Game Hens thawed out, so I figured I'd give them a shot in the oven, though I'd usually prefer to smoke 'em on the grill. She develped a weird pork allergy a few years ago, so she has to refrain from bacon...NOT ME!Big Grin I found a thick sliced, hickory smoked, peppered brand and layered mine liberally, then spiced both up, wrapped them in some 'luminum foil, and, in the mortal words of Ren Man, proceeded to "Bake 'Dat Biotch" at 375 for about an hour and a half! Here's a before and after of each:

And After...

All told, both were good...although with that much bacon, it really doesn't matter WHAT you're eating!Cool

I'm going to be stuffing a pork tenderloin with caramelized onions and mushrooms, and putting it on the grill.

(Sadly, it's one of those little Weber Q things, and not a real one, or I'd applewood smoke it too.)

RE: What's for dinner, honey?
Fireman and I won a nites stay at a resort here in northern WI and decided to have supper at the resort. Of course Fireman's phone was being difficult so he'll have to post the pictures latter.

We started with a bottle of wine called Kitchen Sink a white wine with a mixture blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Gewürztraminer. A delicate fruity note and not too dry or too sweet.

We had Ahi Poke with wasabi and wonton chips as a appetizer, followed by the house salad and then our main courses.

He had the 14 oz prime rib with baked potato/sour cream and I had the smoked chicken breast on top of red pepper pesto sauce covering wild mushroom stuffed ravioli.

We splurged and to round off the meal he had a grasshopper drink and I had the grasshopper ice cream pie.

So....a good meal and pleasant company and really full stomachs.Big Grin
