Coffee is about the only thing I can consider good at this time. Dunkin, Mc D's and Tim Hortons all have good stuff. Discuss.

There's chain fast food and then there is mom and pop fast food. I have an affinity to international cart/truck foods myself. You can get a gyro/shawarma/falafel sandwich from Quik Meal at 45th and 6th in Manhattan that is perhaps the most well-executed sandwich of its kind.

If you could create, and develop a fast food concept around healthful, nutritious, convenient, and tasty fare that was both cheap, and fresh, that could be replicated in multiple units in different geographies- you would become wealthier than Bill Gates.

Those who forget the pasta are condemned to reheat it.

A number of years ago I was touring Portugal and found myself in Estoril on Grand Prix weekend. Tourists numbered in the tens of thousands and to serve the hungry mob there were scores of restaurants-on-wheels that converged into the town.

One of them that I frequented a couple of times made something called a bifana (not sure of the spelling), which was basically pork cutlets on a bun.

Doesn't sound like much, I know, but they were extraordinary. Ask for extra piri-piri sauce. Wonderful stuff!

Losers visualize the results of failure and live in fear.
Winners visualize the results of success and live in abundance.

Have you ever been to In-N-Out Burger? Holy, what a line they attract. Fast, fresh and good. Simple menu. Like going back to where Ray Krok discovered the McDonald's brother's first place.

The other good one, sponsored the now, Team Garmin bike racing team (you know Tour de France). Chipotle, fast food, mexican! Need some of these in Canada.

If were going to discuss burgers....you have to try Five Guys Burgers and Fries sometime. What began as a DC institution (used to eat at the original location in Arlington, Va.) is now a franchised endeavor. Burgers are always fresh, and delicious, with fresh ingredients. Fries are good too (fesh from somewhere in Idaho), but the burger is amazing. They are packed from open to close most days. Very basic menu. Great quality stuff, and excellent service. Now have them (30 locations) in my neck of the woods in Ohio. Yummmm..
