Read the first book just recently and I need to go buy the rest. Very good reads and the PBS adaption stays close to the book surprisingly. Another good one I love is 50 First Dates! |

Another one that we seem to have grown to like is "Napoleon Dynamite". That on is just quirky enough to love

I need to get those "Anne of Green Gables" movies on DVD, I haven't seen them in so long! Another favorite is "Steel Magnolias". A party without cake is really just a meeting |

Whilst we are on Favorite Films...
Anyone care to share their favorite portrayal of Satan? Two of my favs: Peter Stormare - "Constantine". Creepy as hell and twice as demented. Viggo Mortenson - "Prophecy". Again - just downright creepy when you first see him sitting on the wall in the middle of nowhere. You signed the contract - you must do my bidding

He doesn't play Satan but a Demon, Billy Zane as The Collector from Demon Night is one of my favorites. His smooth voice just is creepy as it gets!
Can't forget Harvey Keitel as Satan from Little Nicky |

RE: Favourite Films
OK...I'm catching up after a few weeks off...a couple of movies to add (not including others i already saw listed):
M. Night Shalamayan's "Unbreakable." An all-timer for me. I love everything about this movie. "Caddyshack" and "Airplane" for comedies...both of these movies are like some magical alignment of the stars...everything just works perfectly! "Manhunter" is an awesome movie...I like this way better than any of the other Dr Lecter movies. the "In-a-gadda-da-vida" climax is something else! "Crash" was a really good one...well done and really well-woven together "The Day of the Jackal" - the original, from 1973. an absolutely riveting story...and there is no music soundtrack which, oddly, adds to the movie. "Breaking Away" is a classic...it's been way too long since i've seen it, but still fresh in my mind "Dances with Wolves" is probably the most beautiful move i've ever seen and the story is really powerful. "Contact" is terrific "The Mexican" is a really quirky, surprisingly good movie "The Matrix" absolutely blew me away when i saw it in the theater (on the Champs d'Elysses no less). As for a good Satan: Tim Curry's portrayal of Darkness in the 80s movie "Legend." i'm sure there's more, but those are some good ones! |

RE: Favourite Films
A favorite film of mine is "The Bobo" with Peter Sellers and Britt Eklund. It is a subtle and elegant comedy set in Barcelona. As such, it has many references to food, coffee, and wines. It is hard to find (not avialble on DVD in the US) but worth the effort.
