Where to go. What to see. Eat drink and make merry.

Brutus suggests that we share good food ideas for visiting Rush fans. If you are going to the show at the N.Y. State Fair on Thursday September 2nd, you need to go no farther than the "Dinosaur Bar B Que" tent just past Miller Court near the main entrance. I had a big plate of heaven today and I just cant get it out of my mind. I will also eat there the night of the show. Lots of good food at the fair, dont walk past the best.

Dinosaur keeps getting kudos across the board. I wonder if they'd consider a delivery to Canada.....

Nice also to see that they are smoking good "Q" north of St. Lou...Chicago being the exception

Sacred cows make the best hamburgers.

I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughtnut... I don't need a receipt for the doughnut. I give you money and you give me the doughnut, end of transaction. We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. I can't imagine a scenario that I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut. To some skeptical friend, 'Don't even act like I didn't get that doughnut, I've got the documentation right here... It's in my file at home. ...Under "D".'

Bumping this thread up, because we seem to have lost track of what this section is about.

Well, in Seattle, the venue is in the Seattle Center. This is where the 1962 World's Fair was held. There is the Space Needle, of course (never been up myself and won't unless I'm drugged). The Pacific Science Center is there - a very nice place with a spectacular butterfly garden. The Experience Music Project/Sci-Fi Museum is also there (you can't miss it - the building looks like something Peter Max puked up). It's got a lot of cool stuff but nothing from the Boyz that I can recall (ya might ask Bubba about that, Brutus). The Center House has a food court with several Seattle favorites, including Ivar's. If you want more upscale there are a few around the Center.

Ren Man works right near the EMP at KCTS-Channel 9, the Seattle PBS affiliate. It would be a great place to meet up before the show for those of us who are going. If you show up early enough, I'm pretty sure you could get him to give you a tour.

... in a world where I feel so small I can't stop thinking big!

That would be cool: I was a supporter of KCTS when I lived in Vancouver. (BC, not WA) Big Grin

In Toronto, there's the CN Tower, of course, which is close to ACC, and some really interesting art galleries nearby (Harbourfront is south, and the Distillery district to the east.) I'd be happy to escort folks up to the Art Gallery of Ontario, which has a huge collection of Henry Moore sculptures.
