Panini Maker
I want one. Does anyone have one? Do you recommend them?

I think I would be in sandwich heaven with one of these grills.

RE: Panini Maker
I use my George Forman Grill machine or my cast iron gill pan with a grill lid. Why bother paying the price when you can get creative with the things you have at home.

RE: Panini Maker
I don’t have an actual panini maker, but that doesn’t stop me from making them. Paninis are definitely one of my favorite sandwiches and a hit with the whole family. Appliances in my house have to be worthy of their cabinet/counter space and, for me, a panini maker is not functional enough.

I have a grill pan that I use to make paninis. Flipping them over without spilling the contents out from between the bread can be a bit tricky – I’ve made a couple of messes on my first attempt. I even had one flip right out of the pan – the dog was thrilled!

The grill pan that I use is just a square grill pan. It sees plenty of action, but now I wish I had purchased one of the grill / griddle pans. Ya just gotta love a pan that will cook on either side! And very useful for me on Sunday mornings when I become a short order cook. The ability to make eggs, bacon and French toast all on one pan AND at the same time – oh yeah – works for me!

RE: Panini Maker
I have the two piece cast iron panini pan, and I love it! If you already have a grill pan, but no press, you can buy one separately. I also use a regular cast iron skillet and a bacon press when I don't want grill marks on my bread. I make Cuban and Media Noche sandwiches that way. I use them outside on the grill, too: cast iron is great for that!

I agree with other posters above in that if it takes up space, it needs to do more than one thing...
