What new movies have you seen?
Movies I have watched in the last week.
Avatar - I was extremely disappointed in the storyline. It feels like this storyline was ripped right out of Star Trek. However I really loved the animations, I give that a big thumb up! Sherlock Holmes - How disappointing! I love Sherlock but this bored me so much I nearly feel asleep and I couldn't stand Downey's fake British accent! Shame on Guy Ritchie for not hiring a British actor to play Sherlock! The Men Who Stare At Goats - Finally a good one! I liked it, thought it was quite funny. I recommend this one! Getting ready to watch Revolutionary Road. |

RE: What new movies have you seen?
My husband loved Sherlock Holmes (a bit dark for me, but I thought that the dialogue and the British accents were great).
I took my kids to see "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" which was entertaining. A party without cake is really just a meeting |

RE: What new movies have you seen?
Just wondering how else Avatar could have played out with that script. (Dances With Wolves?)
Altogether, I thought it was pretty entertaining, even if the story was of kindergarten variety. Clash of the Titans (II) Ridiculous. Waste of time and money. Read a book instead... or a local paper. Iron Man II. Another predictable story... but COOL! Wondering when the District 9 sequel will appear (the last good sci-fi that I watched) You signed the contract - you must do my bidding

RE: What new movies have you seen?
In the vast, vacuous wasteland that is digital cable, occasionally one can find a good movie or two, in between the often played regulars they force upon us. Usually they are ones that are shown only once and don't appear on the schedule. The other night, I was lucky enough to find two of these, back to back no less.
The first was Romance and Cigarettes, a film written and directed by John Turturro, and exec produced by the Coen brothers. It features James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon and Christopher Walken. It includes infidelity, cancer, circumcision and Chris Walken dancing with an umbrella. And it's a musical. What more could you ask for? The second was Powder Blue, written and directed by TImothy Linh Bui, featuring Forest Whitaker, Ray Liotta, and Jessica Biel (as a stripper!). It shows the weaving together of four Los Angelinos lives on Christmas Eve through unique circumstances, such as the priest played by Whitaker running the streets with 50 grand and a death wish. Movies like these make me not shut off the cable. |

RE: What new movies have you seen?
I saw the new version of Robin Hood. It was o.k, mostly swordfights and battles, and is more of a prequel to the traditional Robin Hood story.
The Groundhog lied. Winter will continue for the next 6 months. |

RE: What new movies have you seen?
Shrek and I saw it twice. Once in regular and in 3D. 3D ripped man! Awesome. Great for the whole family and I laughed myself sick. Twice.
Robin Hood was great. Actually the whole way through I was thinking, man I must have missed something with this story as a child. But the end brought it all together and I could breath again. I loved Shutter Island. Everyone I know Hated it. I can not see why. Wicked!! Never saw it coming. As far as dvd's, just one. The FOUTH KIND. OHHH MAN!!! I about ran outside to the neighbors house crying. I sleep with my Glock, My Rem marine mag. 12 ga., my man eating shepherd and an extra blanket. And to top it all off, I have these demonic woodpeckers that knock on my window in the morning. Its an everyday thing we go through. They start pecking, I throw something at my wall (not window usually). Then they just fly over to my nice shiney Dodge Ram and peck on that for a bit. Then off to my barn for a few pecks. All the neighbors think its great. Anyway, Im going to rent the Birds next. Don't talk smack about Total!! |

While watching the film my Son says "It's Dances With Wolves In Space!". Then I post at Facebook and my friend Steve says the exact same thing, now you. I don't know, they could have just come up with something even halfway decent. I could have gone without the love crap. That's the one problem I have with action movies, they always throw in the love stuff. I want to see an action story not a love story! |

RE: What new movies have you seen?
Agreed - even "District 9" had a background love story in it. That story line was much more enjoyable though.
The central alien character displayed so many typically "human" emotions, that it was easy to feel empathy (and sympathy) for him. Funniest part of the movie? When they blew up the lab... and the alien says: "F**K!" You signed the contract - you must do my bidding
