RE: What are you listening to?
When certain songs are played on the radio (and now they're found on the "classics" or "easy listening" stations), there are a lot of memories associated with them. When I hear the Eagles, Supertramp, or early Rod Stewart singing "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy", those take me back to the days when my dad would pick me up from my house and take me to my grandparents' house (where he also lived) for a visit and also the trip back. If I hear "Sister Golden Hair", or "Horse With No Name" or anything by Linda Rondstadt during that time, those memories are from two major trips that I took with my parents, sitting in the back seat of a brown Cadillac. One was to Canada (Edmondton was one of the stops) and the other to Texas & Oklahoma. The popular music from 1987 takes me back to a trip that our youth pastors took the graduating seniors on (San Francisco). You can imagine that the youth pastors weren't driving the cars in which that music was being listened to
![]() Since then, it's been "Barney & Friends" then the Jonas Bros. and Hannah Montana, lol A party without cake is really just a meeting |
