Little "Maui Waui" Chuck Mangione......I think I have most of his stuff from the 70's and 80's on CD.

I got roped into seeing him in the early 80s. Glad I went. Unreal musicians in the band he had then.

Most of us are so caught up in life that we forget to live it.

Ahhhhh Grant Geissman - just about the most impeccable guitarist, and Charles Meeks - who could probably give Ged a run for his money. Those are two of them I remember. Unfortunately by the time I was out of the Navy, they had gone their separate ways. I still listen to "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" just to imagine seeing those guys in concert.

They would never have to rope me to see Chuck....well, unless it was to go home.

Had our belated St. Paddy's Day meal today with my mom and brother and his kids , so music choice of the day Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly.

I love those bands! I keep hoping one or the other will get booked into Irish Fest.

I've been fixated lately on youtube musicians. Amateur at the home type of recordings and videos. I'm just amazed at the talent and the great music thats literally undiscovered outside the youtube realm.
of two of note:

pomplamoose
Lauren O'connell

and of course these guys are good: http://www.youtube.com/tonehook Wink
Oh and should add Tommy Emmanuel..takes up a bunch of discs in my vehicle

Thank-you! I went to a Jesse Cook concert and it was very inspiring so i figured I'd give it a try. Not my usual type of music but I enjoy the fluidity and improvisation.

Oh man! Chris Vidal (flutes and reeds) was amazing when I saw Chuck.

Chris Vidal is superb! I just love the addition of flute in a jazz ensemble. Adds such a flavor to the melodies!

Thats why my fav CM song is "Maui Waui"....gots that flute in there.
