RE: What are you listening to?
Just lost a bid on a classic sport bike... bastad.
Ah well... Time Machine, anyone? Robin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkY0PGGxjJM Stabilizers (I used to have a pair of them those boots...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v50khe9hg9o Layne http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nco_kh8xJDs Al (dusanyonewannagowaltzinindegart-in?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlWUELdMDow Allman Bros * Somewhere around 1999-2000, I was exiting a Publix supermarket in Richmond Hill, GA. A new Lincoln Navigator came zipping into the lot, nearly hit me. I jumped back and said a few things that my mom would probably not approve of. The driver rolled down the tinted glass... Greg Allman. I knew him right away with the braided white hair. "My bad buddy", was all he said. I said, "All good Greg, but this store has a lot of little old ladies in it that aren't as fast as I am." He grinned and winked at me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xl6T5K3xb...re=related Boz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFCnVC2C8As Most of us are so caught up in life that we forget to live it. |

Journey! It was just a few weeks ago, during one of those moments, after a romantic evening and lying on the bed, in the dark with the cool fan blowing on us, and the stereo still playing in the other room. Just then the radio station put on “Open Arms”. Yes, sounds corny, but it was just awesome right at that moment. And hearing that song again really took me back, I think it was ’82 when I was in eighth grade, when Escape was out and Open Arms was just THE song all the girls loved. I mean, they were just nuts about it. Its funny how certain songs can just rope in all the girls (all us guys liked this song called Tom Sawyer, go figure). So it made me wonder, does Open Arms still have that magic? Can it appeal like it did to the young girls of today? So I decided to give a copy of Escape to my young niece, who is at that young, music impressionable age (she was crazy about someone name Justin Beaver or something). So I told her be sure to listen to Open Arms, the very last song, and I also told her my favorite one was the second song. I saw her a week later and asked her, “So? What did you think of the CD?” “It was okay”, was all I got. Oh well. ![]() |

RE: What are you listening to?
Greg Allman - my man. One of my all TIME fav tunes from tat band is "Seven Turns", and once you get on a bike and ride, that song can carry you for miles! Thats one cat I would love to meet, but my chances of that ....about the same as meeting up with another guy we all know and love!
Journey - seen them four times, but who tossed in Night Ranger? ACK!!!! I think Im in a time warp! Primary Principle - "It must NEVER be my fault" |

I never gravitated towards the Bro's and most "Jam Band" type stuff, but latched onto tight, focused Hard Rock - Night Ranger, Scorpions, UFO, Michael Schenker, Styx, Kansas and, of course, Rush. While I appreciate them, I just couldn't get into the meanderings of the Bro's and Grateful Dead. Oddly enough, I can listen to meandering Jazz all day long. Weird... That's about the same reaction that my kids give to 80's music. Sometimes there are loud protests, or groans, or the word "old" comes up when Husby and I have it playing on the radio. A party without cake is really just a meeting |
