RE: What are you listening to?
What am I listening to?
Neil's Heavy Concept Album Pt2 "Heavy Potato Encounter" and " My White Bicycle" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BD-2TukpJo ... unfortunately The News' constant drone, and Chris Rose's commentary about the BP Oil Spill, keep diverting my thoughts to THE OIL MONSTER! <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="http://wvue.img.entriq.net/dayportcore/dpm/DayPortPlayers.js"></script><script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">DayPortPlayer.newPlayer({articleID:"19994",bannerAdConDefID:"13",videoAdObjectID:"12",videoAdConDefID:"5",playVideoAds:"true",categoryID:"786",accPos:"CCTVI.CHRISROSE",accSite:"WVUE",playerInstanceID:"5ED1F7E8-1A85-BA06-44C9-9FD864CC049C",domain:"wvue.web.entriq.net"});</script> I CAN'T STOP THINKING how BIG it is! Hey, how ‘bout dem Saints! I see where Heath Evans’ knee is getting stronger every day. I’m feeling good about the offense. Yeah, Who Dat, baby! Not buying it, huh? Yeah, me neither. The old distractions aren’t working like they used to, like they’re supposed to. No matter how much you try to look away – it’s always there. It’s big, it’s ugly and it just won’t get out of the way. You go online. Open the paper. Turn on the TV, the radio – there it is: The Oil Monster. ( I Can't Stop Thinking How Big It Is!" ) You look for something, anything else to talk about – How ‘bout this heat! - (i can't stop thinking 'it's not the humidity, it's the capsaicin')but you just go around and around and you end talking about the New Orleans Police Department or Al and Tipper and, well, you don’t feel any better about any of that. Al and Tipper? Maybe these are the End of Days. At least with Katrina, you could take a hammer and beat the heck out of some rotten plaster for a few hours to vent. But, as our President noted so gracefully the other day, it’s hard to know who’s “ass to kick” about this oil thing. Well, no it’s not. It’s just that, well – a civil society says we can’t treat the suits at BP the same way we would rotten plaster. No matter how much our dark side relishes the idea. It’s that prevailing sense of helplessness that defines the day. You keep asking yourself: What can I do? How can I help? I see that alpaca farmers in upper New York State are getting together to collect their herd clippings to send down here for us to make oil collection booms with. It’s a kind offer, but…..alpaca? I read about it on alpacanation.com. Yup: Even if all you want to know in life is what's up with llamas these days, you still get: The Spill. Nowhere to hide. It makes a man desperate, ready to grab onto just about anything for relief. So…..how ‘bout that World Cup? sighs How 'bout a Pimm's Cup. I guess sighs does matter! |

RE: What are you listening to?
Porcupine Tree- a two hour "live" performance of Fear of a Blank Planet recorded in Atlanta. The download is available through burningshed.com and all the profits made go to fellow musician Mick Karn and his family. The setlist from this show is phenomenal.

RE: What are you listening to?
It might be better asked what do I NOT listen to, because that list is pretty short. But - in the interest of musical comparisons, try these:
"The Three Amigos" (this one should be fairly obvious given the nature of this particular discussion board!) ![]() Manhattan Transfer Allman Brothers (This is usually followed by a couple hundred miles on the scoot) Will Ackerman Craig Chaquico David Gilmour (This is one talent EVERYBODY drools about!) Nickelback There is an absolute universe full of music to listen to, but lately because of family and personal issues I have been listening a lot to some of the lighter more ambient style music. My wife and I just celebrated our 25th Anniversary, some health issues in the family, all making me be a little bit more "reflective" on things. You could throw in a "Caravan" or "BU2B" as well, but one I am listening to a lot as well is "Ghost of a Chance". I forget....is that those Canadiens again? ![]() Primary Principle - "It must NEVER be my fault" |

RE: What are you listening to?
My son is really digging music from our favorite band. He loves the 2 new songs and is trying to make himself familiar with everything else. Can't go wrong listening to any of their songs.
