RE: The Pet Peeve
Good for you, nettie. I take it the breakfast invites have been retracted?

Plan was to take his boat to the Columbia, go up to the inlet where we could at least see the stage and crowd and hear the band, after the show find a sandbar and campout over night to "sleep it off". Three days before the show, he tells me he won VIP tickets (from his friend at the radio station) and he would be taking his girlfriend (who doesn't even LIKE Rush!) instead of me. Not as drastic as missing a walk for charity, but a let-down just the same! "Rollin' numbers, rock-n-rollin', got my Kiss records out!" |

Ha, it must be real nice to "win" some tickets when you have a friend at the radio station, nice to know that's how it really works. Must be that elitist thing again someone here was talking about.
Passing out on the sand bar sounded like fun to me... I like Italian food and Italian roadsters |

Nettie-you can walk off your anger. I bet you don't take 10 steps and the good feelings will take over and you'll be into the fun!
If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes... |

RE: The Pet Peeve
Well, they've changed their minds and are doing the walk after all, but we're meeting at registration. I get to sleep in because I only have to make breakfast for myself!
![]() Then I can continue to paint my house. I'm loving the color I chose for the living room. It's just a different shade of what was already there(creamy yellow instead of creamy grey), and it makes such a difference! The Groundhog lied. |

RE: The Pet Peeve
Also the key is to get as much done while you are excited about it. Getting a new house creates excitement, joy, happiness, and anticipation of making it your own. It is almost like an adrenaline boost for getting lots of work done. However (and I say this from experience), that initial euphoria does eventually wear off (don't worry, it can take years), and then home improvements and things constantly needing to be fixed becomes the usual drudgery, put off and placed on the back burner for later.
So, get er done while you are feeling gung ho.
