RE: The Pet Peeve
Bagel, it's about the pickles. It's all bout the great mysterious recyclable pickle. You not buying this are you? (sigh) I'm so misunderstoodWink

But to answer you, DeAnne and I have been hitting the restaurant circuit for 8 years (off&on). Some of her favorites include Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Uno's, sometimes Apple Bee's, Texas Road House and once in a bluemoon we go to Cracker Barrel. And all of whom I suspect are recyclers of the pickle. My point is, don't eat the pickle. It's been on 35 plates prior to yours.
It's my PeeveSmile

Don't talk smack about Total!!

Understood!
I've heard of some Asian restaurants in my town that recycle uneaten food as well. Yuck!

A party without cake is really just a meeting

Back to work tomorrow. Sad End of contract end of month. Smile What is worse being at work, or being out of it?

I need to be like Darcey - "a private income of some twenty five thousand pounds a year".....

Better to have a job and dislike it than to be unemployed and dislike it.

Taking liberties with that that wonderful Sophie Tucker quote, "I've been employed and paid for it than being unemployed and living on Kraft Dinner. Trust me on this: Employed is better."

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain

OHR - I know you are right - as my father used to say, a job allows you to buy the things you want out of life.

Its been a while though since I have worked with people I really would call mates, (people who cover for you, and you cover for them just as willingly), and feeling you have achieved something worthwhile in the days work. I think careers officers used to call it "Job Satisfaction" - and recently I cant get no satisfaction.

RE: The Pet Peeve
Then there are those like me who can't be satisfied with just the ONE job. Oh noooo - we have to go find MORE work. At one point I was working for FOUR different companies/entities. That was about 5 years ago when my wife put her foot down. I am not exactly fond of my main job, but its better than living on grits and bologna sandwiches - without bread and bologna!

I think he is right - this "meantime" has got to go.

RE: The Pet Peeve
In with the New Year - out with the Meantime. Funny not really looked closely at the word Mean and Time. Seems a bit sinister broken down into the two words. Anyway, as Boomer says it has no place for us in 2011.
