Leg of Lamb
The local grocer's mistake turned out well for me. At the store where I usually buy my meats, I asked for a leg of lamb. They usually keep a few frozen for me - but this time it was different. He came out with a New Zealand Spring Leg of Lamb!

Now the difference is quality and taste. I make a mean regular leg of lamb but this was going to be a treat (on vikingrange.com in the 'Videos' section you can view the tutorial I used to cook this lamb - straight from Thomas Keller's mouth). The other difference was price (a leg usually runs around $20. This one was $42).

The video from Viking is on youtube here:

It turned out almost as perfect as Thomas' did. Now I can't wait for lunch today to have gyros with the leftover lamb. My yogurt is straining in the fridge as we speak for my homemade Tzatziki sauce!

I paired the lamb with a nice Syrah and it was fantastic...
