RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here...
I agree on those giving him a hard time. It's unjustified. He arguably gives us more insight to who he is than any other "celebrity" that I can think of. I know I sure wouldn't want to be bombarded by fans-even well meaning fans-all the time. Sometimes, I just can't figure out what some people expect of him......

RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here...
Well it's good to see another parent want to be home more often. Usually when children start to arrive, parents want to be with them as much as possible not miss out on those growing up years. I feel very fortunate to have been able to stay at home with my kids. Yes, they've been the busiest years I've ever had, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. Bubba's family is very fortunate that he makes the effort to be involved and stay connected with them. So if things wind down show-wise over the next few years, I wouldn't begrudge him at all.

RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here...
I felt awful for Bubba when at a point (as far as I could see), he had succeeded financially and professionally, and could take time to pause and enjoy his family, that fate should deal him that blow, and take that away from him.
Where as when Selena was born, there might not have been much alternative - (I remember Freddy Mercury saying, "Well what else could I do dear"), to touring and recording - it would be hard to apply for and get an accountants job somewhere, for instance and hop off the industry, so you have no choice but to "Push On". This time around things are very different with Olivia and Carrie, I imagine there is very little left to prove musically, except I can still do it, and better than I did, and financially well, for those tormented by "having enough", there will never be enough, but, again, I would imagine there is enough to provide for them all...... So I can see someone taking time to reflect on what is right for them and their family at this time... BTW - Boomer are you the Harley riding mate Bubba refers too? She looked at me and rolled those big brown eyes and said, "Oh, I would do it all for you, `cos you`re a Rocker" |

Well, actually no, however, I had hoped to be able to give him a set of those bells myself, perhaps on his road trip back from Europe - but some bugger beat me to it. Unfortunately the l;ast two "gifts" I did try to send ended up being returned.

RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here...
There was one picture....the one he spoke of on the lake in Minnesota, that have given me a big attack of the guilts big time, but I guess my personal experience serving in the submarine service knows about that all too well, and thats why I got out of the service. I remember what it was like to give my wife a kiss, and then go to sea for months on end no letters no phone calls not even knowing I was alive, come back, and we sort of look at each other like "Who the heck are YOU?" sorta way. As a father of two kids I know that feeling. I hate working two jobs because my kids never actually "see" me and my wife only sees me collapse at the end of each day. But - at least they get to see me come home every night.
As adults we all make sacrifices, and we all have moments of torment, but I have wondered since I saw that picture of Bubba in Minnesota if the price for him is really worth the cost. For You Steve & Monica - Your Love will forever shine on in our hearts!!!

If your life was exotic and strange you might gladly exchange it for something a little more tame, maybe something a little more sane........
