Great stuff, of which I can no longer partake. The Groundhog lied. |

RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here...
Vince,I may have to try that at least once, out of sheer curiosity.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I remember my mother telling a story about one day, during a marching band practice in high school. The band director had the kids practice while marching around the area of town that the school was in, and they were out a little too long. They heard the school bell in the distance indicating that that period was over. So they kind of marched/ran in step all the way back to the school with the drum section keeping time for them. A party without cake is really just a meeting |

The sauce ("mole" actually means sauce so when you say "mole sauce" you are saying "sauce sauce" ) is made with chocolate and chili and sometimes banana for thickening. I will find a good recipe and post it in the Mains.

MMMMM yum, I wish I had some now!
Marching Band is a cultish activity. It took me awhile to "get it." I think I do now, but I could never have done what those kids do. Incredible commitment! Nettie, are you allergic to chocolate or chili sauce? "Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." "Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup." VU you think the marching band thing takes commitment on TV during games, practice, etc...try watching those poor kids at a Mardi Gras parade, carrying their heavy racks of drums, tubas, etc. and tack on a 8-10 mile parade route! I'd pass out before we rounded the first corner! "Rollin' numbers, rock-n-rollin', got my Kiss records out!" |

Fun. In my Junior year we were invited to march in the Rose Parade. Everyone was so excited-it was like the Holy Grail of Parades. Then we found out that the band director turned down the invite because he thought the 5 mile route was "too long" for us to march. We nearly lynched him. He didn't last long at our school..... If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes... |

Oh no, nettie! No chocolate?
![]() I was never in marching band but I had a friend who was. The worst thing about it, according to her, was the VERY early morning practices. She, like me, was NOT a morning person
