I can only imagine how your pal felt upon the realization of his particular event truth. I do feel for him, and anyone that has been subjected to this. I wrote here once, that in some instances it may be more safe to keep your distance from a person(s) that you truly admire, in the event that you are sorely disappointed upon learning that they are, after all... only human.

As I also wrote, in all likelihood I would probably turn down the opportunity to meet Bubba, other than to say "Thanks - even if you stopped writing and playing and touring today, just... thanks."
What would I possibly talk about that would interest him? Paintball? My extremely cool dog? The favorite pair of shorts that Cujo wears around the house? It would be a short conversation. In all honesty, I believe that I would rather simply hold to what I know; The words and music mean a lot. Always have. Always will. Besides, I'd kick his arse on a paintball field.
