At least it wasn't ELO! I remember being on vacation in Biloxi, MS one summer with my folks (77?) and it came over the radio that ELO were guilty of advertising a "live" show earlier that summer, and had been found to be lip synching over pre-recorded tapes instead. They had to reimburse the promoter and fans if I remember correctly...first case of "faking it" I ever recall! Since then, the mere sound of Geoff Lynne's voice prompts me to change the station!
