RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here...
Well I certainly don't feel like I'm 20, maybe early 30's. How old I feel is another story. I feel older, especially if I'm sick or if I have pinched nerves or sore knees. We're also a lot more tired than we used to. Late night parties that get us home at 2AM, take us nearly a whole week to recover from (and that's without alcohol)

RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here...
I am 48 felt fine. Went to see the Doc recently about nothing in particular, he decides to check my blood pressure - it was 156/94 He reads me the riot act about losing weight, reducing alcohol intake, going to gym, no salt in diet, cholesterol check, Liver function, Kidney function, a full wellbeing test.
All ok now - BP down to 144/84 and 8lbs lost in 6 weeks, cholesterol "normal" etc Kidney and Liver working perfectly - (that was a pleasant surprise) Mentioned it to a mate - exactly the same age as me - exactly the same he went to see the Doc, Doc took his blood pressure, but would not let my mate leave the practice until he was taking beta blockers, which he will now be on for the rest of his life. Mentioned it to another mate, who`s cousin, aged 44 had just had a heart attack!! Not good. So I run, Nordic Walk, Cycle and row for an hour at the Gym, once a week, and have gone back to playing acoustic drums, well Boom Theory acoustic e-drums with a DW Red Sparkle wrap - they look and feel like real drums, but are hooked up to the TD20 Module, and from there into the Pro Tools rig I have. (I have been playing a TD20 KW for the past 3 years, and ddrum 4se for 5 years before that) and amazing as those kits are, you are not expending the same energy playing them. At least with the Boom Theory I come in from the Studio drenched in sweat and feeling I have had a great work out, without making too much noise while the kids do their homework etc |

RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here...
My husby tends to get a work out when practicing his drums. Any workout is a good one. His BP has been on the rise lately though and there have been a few scary moments. He has a lot of stress in his life as well that contributes.
My dad, who doesn't possess an ounce of fat (because he doesn't eat much) wound up with a high BP at age 50 and for the past 18 years has had to take a "silly ol' pill" and a walk every day. So now I'm walking nearly every day as well, and make better food choices. I'd like to avoid the high BP and any other health issues that other family members and friends have had. My dad laughs at me because I talk about watching my health, finding silver hair, taking vitamins and making sure that we get enough fiber. My dad and grandma sometimes act like there excited that I'm about to join their "club" lol A party without cake is really just a meeting |

Quote:My husby tends to get a work out when practicing his drums There was some recent research that it takes more energy to play the drums for an hour than a pro footballer at a match for an hour. |

I aint THAT old yet Bagel.....I get plenty of fiber.......and that bottle of geritol can go with it - right out the window.
If we are talking cars, well how about Starsky and Hutch? That Gran Torino with the 351 Cleveland in it? There is no way a Windsor could sound THAT ratty. And who could forget that wonderful black Trans Am from "Smokey and the Bandit".....thats one car I wish I could have right now! This getting old talk is for the birds! RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here...
Here's one that would make even Ol' Mufasa squirm in his chair - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
I used to own a 1967 Ford F-250 we called...."The Clampett-mobile" because it looked just like Jed Clampetts truck. Thing ran like a tank until a friend of mine rolled it into a ditch. Funny thing though. After they righted the truck, it started right back up. For You Steve & Monica - Your Love will forever shine on in our hearts!!!
