Had my first "Measure of the Macallan" last night

RE: Had my first "Measure of the Macallan" last night
[I'm with Boomer, I've never seen it before either.

On my way home Saturday, I stopped in at the best purveyor of Scotch here and ended up having a lovely conversation with the department manager.

Yes, they have a manager just for Scotch! He goes over several times a year, buying casks, arranging for bottling, etc. I could sure use a gig like that....

At any rate, we stood in front of the Macallan section, a tightly packed, ten-foot long shelf, with everything from the cask-strength and 25-year-old on down. If I ever win the big lottery, I'm going to go in there and buy several cases....

Methinks you live in a large city. That sounds like a huge selection! Red Breast is worth tracking down. (Oh, it was about $38 BTW.)

And yes, that fellow has a great job!

...and a new one for me last night...

A wonderful gift came my way: Johnny Walker Gold. I very much enjoyed it. Complex and balanced, rich and honeyed.

I had my first Macallan the other day at my local Inn. I actually felt a bit embarrassed to order it, in case someone said, "Are you copying Bubba?"

But, that aside, not sure what to say....I think it was 10YO, smooth, nice, Scotch - I think though I still prefer Talisker, (where I am just copying my brother!!).

Friend of mine has a bottle of the 30-year-old Talisker that I've had a wee dram out of: now that is a serious whisky!

Yes, it's quite the stuff: shame you two don't share the same taste in music though. Big Grin (He's a frethead folkie.)

It certainly does for sure...I had a strange Easter Pressie today, the Easter Bunny brought me a 12 yo, a 15 yo, and 18 yo Glenfiddich - guess he must have known I don`t have a sweet tooth.....

Really, are you trying to copy Bubba? Well, I will have you know, that nobody here would ever, ever, try to imitate Bubba. Sayin'?

Angel

And another thing, I just happen to have a pair of brown corduroy trousers, and am quite fond of them, so I hope that is okay with you!
