Is there an activity that you are particularly fond of.... and by that I mean is there something that you enjoy doing that burns calories... that you would not be afraid to do in front of your kids?
If you are sitting around and eating from boredom (as I will catch myself doing in the winter) then that needs to stop. The first thing you need to do is slow your calorie intake The second is get your metabolism up (preferably through the roof) and you will burn calories like a shrew. I know this is a tough time to pull that off - but you asked. Got a bike? Got a gym membership? Got a goat? No... wait... that's something else. Get yourself busy - keep yourself busy. Set a goal - not on K2, but more on a hill... reachable, then set the next one a bit higher. When I was still fighting, I absolutely hated to start training, but once I made it over the "puking my guts out" stage, I loved being in that kind of shape. Just do it. You signed the contract - you must do my bidding
