RE: Cars I Remember
Back in the day when gas was cheap and cars were fast My buddies and I would go to Hwy 100 in MKE and check out the rides. There was this red colored GTO that was just set up perfect for drag racing. Never saw under the hood but when that thing launched it transfered just enough weight back to lift the left frot tire off the ground ever so slightly, and haul chili!!
Not real loud on the pipes but definitly a well suspended machine.

Then there was this stock looking and sounding Dodge pick up that ran low 7's.....but that is another story.

LOL My first car was a 1974 Gremlin. Orange with a black stripe, and that nasty black vinyl interior, but it was fabulous to take out camping!

Is it Camping with Gremlins or Gremlin Camping? Either is would be kinda weird; but fun!

RE: Cars I Remember
I could put down the back seats and load all my gear plus enough beer to last a week in that thing. Best trips were up north of Harrison Hot Springs, (east of Vancouver, BC, on the north side of the Fraser River), along the fire roads, where you used to just be able to pull off the road at any of the little deserted beaches, build a fire ring, and hang out in the quiet.

Apart from the odd trip into town for ice, there were times that I didn't see another soul for days at a stretch. Steaks and chops on the 'que most nights, fresh corn in season, and the Milky Way at night....

Things are just so much more complicated now: you need a permit, for starters....
