RE: Continually Off Thread
Well at least you're getting some direction, Bagel. Hope it's smooth sailing from here!

If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes...

I hope so Smile
We're all hoping that we won't have to move for quite a while. That "in limbo" feeling has been a stress. Now that we have a place, I can start planning for the school year, and maybe, just maybe be able to do some canning before the canning season is over.

Blackberries are ripening here! I'm going to have to get my butt in gear to get some jam made before we head off for vacation....

Our new house, has blackberry vines along the driveway and in the back yard. I might be able to pick enough for jam if the 3 little kids next door don't beat me to them.

Funny - we have moved 5 times in the last 23 years - three of those houses are about a mile apart from each other, and the others no more than 10 miles away.

Reminds me of the Free song, "I`m a mover"........"I was born by the river and just like that river, I`ve been moving ever since" (We live near to the River Teme, once quite famous for Salmon fishing).

She looked at me and rolled those big brown eyes and said, "Oh, I would do it all for you, `cos you`re a Rocker"

RE: Continually Off Thread
I hate moving. Thankfully, the military did all the big dirty work (read: packing and shipping) and all I had to do was show up at the new place. Let's see...17 times in 20 years? Oy...ugh...argh...I'm glad I'm done with all that. Maybe one more move in my time, but that's it. Well, maybe 2 or 3 more...meh, we'll see...

Oh and speaking of things in cans...or jars...and food to eat, I learned a valuable lesson this weekend! Smile Pickle juice is a great electrolyte replacement and rehydrator! I taught an MSF class this weekend and it was hotter than Hades out there on the range. I drank a ton of water, but when I got home on Sat, I was way overheated and exhausted. I had a craving for something tart and salty, and pickles were the first thing I thought of. I grabbed a jar and took a swig of the juice and almost immediately felt better. After an ice pack, a nap and a good meal, I felt recovered. Today, I brought the jar of pickles with me and while I initially got some giggles and jokes about being preggers, the guys were asking if they could have some too. I felt great and stayed nice and coherent all day! Smile

And now you know, and knowing is half the battle. I bet Dan knew this though... Smile
