RE: What Do You Miss?
There's a lot of things I miss. But, more than anything else:
Simplicity (not the magazine) Apparently, I also missed the call for moderators in my absence. Congrats to those of you whom stepped up!

Ah......couple other things.
Games. Not video games, but real card games, or board games. Flowers. Sending your mom a bouquet of "internet" flowers just aint cool. Knees. I wish mine worked like they used to. Haystack Rock. There's no place like home. For You Steve & Monica - Your Love will forever shine on in our hearts!!!

RE: What Do You Miss?
Been getting in a few games of cribbage a week lately.
![]() Other things: Time to get projects done around the house ![]() Alone time with the Mrs. Training Riding One thing I want to not miss: These extra pounds that have somehow managed to find their way onto me. |

Quote:Alone time with the Mrs. Is that allowed after children??? ![]() I think we sometimes feel like those birds which (unknowingly) raise cuckoos believing them to their own, and yet working ever harder just to meet their demands..........I love them really......but feeding them, ferrying them, peace keeping them, financing them, does wear you down. I dont think the missus and I can remember whatever it was we did before children.

RE: What Do You Miss?
Alone time. HUH? Says who??? If you're getting alone time, either you got no kids, or Grandma came and stole them for a month. Every time we have 20 minutes alone - all we do is stare at each other. I think its been so long since we were actually alone - we forgot what to do with each other.
My brother has graciously volunteered to send us training material. For You Steve & Monica - Your Love will forever shine on in our hearts!!!

RE: What Do You Miss?
I think that when we went to the concert in Auburn, and spent time in Seattle and Portland for two days, sans kids, was the first time in many years that we just had fun as a couple. It was so nice! Four hours away for an evening can't compete with that. We do try to get out regularly. It's easier now that our oldest is an "in house babysitter". We've never had the "grandma" option, so date nights, when the kids were littler, were less frequent.

So, it's been difficult our entire marriage to have alone time. Our son is almost 18 and in a few months will ship off to boot camp. I've been looking forward to empty nesting for a long time as we spent our courtship doing just about everything together and then we are almost individuals due to our schedules. We're young enough to enjoy each other still without playing Scrabble and Bingo every night and we still know how to curl each other's toes. ![]() Kink in the "empty nest" though. Her Grandfather moved in so we can help care for him. So, that's put a bit of a hold on our plans. But, it's worth it. Her Grandparents helped us out tremendously when we were just married so we look at it as our turn to help him out.

RE: What Do You Miss?
Last time we were out alone for any length of time, other than running errands, was a concert in the beginning of May. Having three children, ages ranging from 8 to 14, can be difficult. We do not have a reliable babysitter for the younger ones and don't want to leave them alone over night. Relatives in the area are useless and don't want to watch them too late at night. Ten more years to go until they are all off to college or whatever...than is a long time.

I'm alone with the one that I love everynight. And it's getting really old. Lately I've been wanting to see other people;/
