This looks pretty good. I'm doing a pasta dinner on the weekend for a special ladyfriend and I think I'm going to try this. Will keep you posted on the culinary results.

RE: Pasta Sauce Add-on it's really good
For extra flavor in any pasta sauce I like to use rendered bacon as a substitute for any oil. 'Till the bacon's browned but not crunchy. Or use panchetta, or even prociutto like in a carbonnara suace. And if you're gonna do olives you could also consider capers, tomatoes and a couple of well-rinsed anchovies. These are used in the classic Putanesca Sauce (I've heard the politically correct "Harlot's Sauce, Whore's sauce and in certain circles, Ho Sauce N'I mean Word Son Sauce) . Enjoy .
Sacred cows make the best hamburgers. I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughtnut... I don't need a receipt for the doughnut. I give you money and you give me the doughnut, end of transaction. We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. I can't imagine a scenario that I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut. To some skeptical friend, 'Don't even act like I didn't get that doughnut, I've got the documentation right here... It's in my file at home. ...Under "D".' |

Looks similar to what I do with my meatball subs:
American and Cheddar cheese jalepenos banana peppers black olives Parmesan oregano Adds a great taste to bland Italian foods.

Your Pasta Sauce really sounds very yummy.
I will definitely try this today only at dinner. I usually prepare Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce with Spaghetti, but know will try yours one. |

RE: Pasta Sauce Add-on it's really good
That's almost exactly what I do with my pasta sauce. Haven't had the time / energy to go total scratch, so I get the jar stuff (decent jar, no Prego or Ragu here...)
brown up some hamburg, add onions, lots of garlic, hot pepper (I find cayennes work best; the flavor goes with the rest better than other varieties I've tried) add the sauce, add fresh musrooms, olives, various seasonings (whatever "feels" right that night) then simmer for a while. much tastier than plain, and not much work, other than chopping the veggies and cleaning up afterwards. |
