RE: Cooking Light
For me, it took a life changing incident presided by a very dark season in my life before I could begin to change. Basically I got sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. But once I said ENOUGH for the final time, things started changing. One of the big things that had to go was alcohol. Sad but true, for this guy. Then I needed to choose to eat correctly. No more crap! Chicken, chicken, chicken and lots of veggies! TONS! A couple yogurts a day and water water water. And I don't like water really. I'd much rather have coffee but it's not processed in your body the same. Actually it dehydrates you!
Start moving! Do something small at first like walking to the end of the street. I like to Find 4 songs to listen too, that's 20 minutes usually. Walk until the end of the music. There is your cardio for the day in the beginning. Heck man we sit on the toilet for 20 minutes reading drum magazines and dont even flinch!
We can walk.
Had to change my mind about life. A new Way. My way kept me cycling around and around, locking me into a cycle of despair. I poured myself into my relationship with Christ (not so much church). That works for me. Life has changed radically in many many ways.

I'm down 80 pound and I'm still going. Working out more and actually enjoying it. My career has been restored times 10. And I had previously thrown my career out the window because of my lifestyle. Personally, I'm very happy and content. Something I could not always say. The desires of my heart are unfolding before my
eyes.

But for me, I had to walk in that nasty valley of death for decades before I got sick and tired of being sick and tired! I hope you don't have too.

Good luck. The time is now!

Don't talk smack about Total!!

I am learning portion control. Making enough food is not as easy as I thought, it's these dang hungry eyes that hype the conversation with the over imaginative brain that makes dinner for two, dinner for 6. Smaller plates are helping.

Oh Bleat!

Chuckeee, I'm very happy for you. I knew many months ago you were on the verge of finding true happiness!

Jetrow, hang in there. You're changing your thinking which will change your "doing".

If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes...

Yep NBC - you're right. Walking is the simplest thing we can do. And walking to music makes it that much easier. As I've posted elsewhere, Bubba lays down a good rhythm in many different tempos. I start slow (Bravado) and work my way up to rapid (Animate) and then back down (The Weapon) and cool off (Resist). Quite a nice set Smile

... in a world where I feel so small I can't stop thinking big!

RE: Cooking Light
Great job Chuckie!!! I'm down 27 pounds...I'd like to work on losing another 23 before summer. I have been squeezing in work outs between school, work and studying...how I don't know, but they are a great stress reliever. I have been cutting back calories, sweets, junk food (I buy it for the family, but just don't eat it Smile ) and like NBC lot of lean meats like chicken, veggies, salads, and I am always drinking water. My one weakness unfortunately is Pepsi Max. My midnight work/day school schedule has me usually in a state of chronic sleep deprivation. Need something to stay awake and tea doesn't always help.

I am now down 40 pounds...10 more to go. I will say...I feel better, except for the continual chronic sleep deprivation. I am hoping that will get better in May when my classes are over until September.

Forty pounds, really? That is awesome! Good job. I for one know how much will power and discipline it takes to stick with it and get there. And once you get there, to stay there (not so easy for me, now I need to get there again, d'oh!).

I like Italian food and Italian roadsters
