RE: Photography
I have posted photos here from photo bucket, but I'm not real thrilled with that format. Today, I tried to attach a photo that was in jpeg format, but I got a message that it was too big. I resized it, but still got the no-go message. How are you all attaching photos? And yes, I read the thread about attaching photos.
If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes... |

RE: Photography
Huh?
I use Flickr. Not sure why they work, but it essentially resizes the photos for me and then offers a range of sizes to link to. The downfall is I think you may have to have a Yahoo account, but there are a variety of image hosting services you can pick from. Remember too, that if you post a fairly large image in Photobucket it may or may not post in here. I know I will probably get flogged for asking this, but are you linking to your photos or are you trying to post directly? I assume since you are using Photobucket that you are using links, but we had another person come thru here awhile back who was trying to post pictures directly from their system and didnt know why the server kept booting them out after trying to post a 6 MB image. Sorry GW - I'm just asking!!! How much are you resizing? Perhaps some numbers might help shed some "light" on this?? For You Steve & Monica - Your Love will forever shine on in our hearts!!!

RE: Photography
I am using paint and resizing to 15-25% of original size. My files are HUGE!!

RE: Photography
Yeah - I usually pare down to 40% of actual size before uploading anyway. Waiting on a 5 MB image to upload is just too frustrating, and those files are plenty big enough anyway. Now if you really want to have some fun, try capturing images in RAW mode - those are just enormously big.

RE: Photography
Well, I think technically, here in the photography thread anyway, we are supposed to be using other hosting (photobucket, etc) for the photos, so that it does not eat up too much Bar 'n' Grill bandwith. But some use attached anyway, so its a bit loose there. I used attached for the joke picture because it is small, I will probably delete it after a while (if Boomer does not do it first).
For picture sizes, for main photos I like to use 1024 pixels across, a nice viewing size, and try to keep it around 200 k or less so it doesn't bog everyone down. I like Italian food and Italian roadsters |
