RE: The Bar
Oohh that looks like trouble with a capital T. You could always take out the banana and add in ---Amaretto, or Kaluha, or Creme De Mente, or any of the Cupcake or Chocolate cake flavored vodkas.
If you can't play by OUR rules take your toys and go home!!

I think there might be just enough left for a dish or so. I need some hot tea. The temperature went from 94 degrees yesterday, to 68 today! It feels good, but a little chilly. It's been over 90 degrees here for at least a week. The Groundhog lied. Winter will continue for the next 6 months. |

RE: The Bar
Hey Bartender, need a double somethin'-somethin' to shake the cobwebs off! Been out in la-la land the past few weeks, guess I got some 'splainin' to do...
It all started right after the Memorial Day holiday weekend. I get back to work only to find out my friend and co-worker totaled her Shaguar, leaving her severely beat-up and bruised, hospitalized and out of commission, to say the least. I didn't find out for a few days, but she'd been my focus of thoughts, prayers, and attention for a couple of weeks...then it happened. I get a call from my brother last week, telling me my Mother is going in for a biopsy for a lump on her breast (yes, THAT kind of lump) and should have the results in a few days. Tick-tock, tick-tock...the clock seemed to be going backward, and I get a call from Mom last Friday, yep, it's the big "C"! (AGAIN!) She try's to assure me it's only the size of a lemon,( ) and they found it quick enough, so I shouldn't be worried. (yeah, right!?) After all, she had colon cancer 20+ years ago and, after they told her it would be 'terminal', kicked it's arse all the way back to hell! Well, she's 71 now, and not in the best of health, but still in good spirits. She goes in today for the removal surgery, and since she had the 'dye test' yesterday to find out if it had gotten into her lymph nodes, they'll be able to determine whether or not to do chemo. So, I guess I staggered in here looking for someone to kick back a few with, say a few prayers for Mom, and wait for the outcome. I'll take another double before you start hangin' those 4th of July decorations!

RE: The Bar
(gasp!)...water...I am....back...
Is there a pool table in this joint? Think I'll spot Nawlins a couple games and buy everyone a round to celebrate to bookstore move. I was the only casualty with a dislocated thumb. Who knew it could bend that way - three days in a row! Glad to be back, even in diminished capacity. Oh yeah. And stale cake Nettie? Hoobah-doobah |

N'awlins, maybe you and I can commiserate, and I'll send up some prayers for your Mom. Here's a double of whatever you are drinking!
Brian, ouch on that thumb! Yes, there is still cake, I think from RN yesterday. It seems people passed it up for the ice cream. The Groundhog lied. Winter will continue for the next 6 months. |

RE: The Bar
I'll have a drink with ya too N'awlins, I just got back from a bike ride and I'm pretty thirsty. Whip me up something on tap and cold! My Aunt had some of that kind of "C", and they took it out and fixed her up good, she hasn't had a problem since. So, I will hope it will be the same with your Ma too.

RE: The Bar
Thanks all!...I heard from my brother a little while ago, and it looks like she went through the surgery with flying colours and the doc told him the nodes looked "clear" which is a good thing, maybe no chemo. They did it "out-patient" so she should be home now, but he did say she was in pain, so I may wait 'till later tonight to call and check. I will let her know that there are some very cool people here at Bubba's (with whom she's VERY familiar!) that are thinkin' about and sendin' the positive vibes her way! Drinks on me! *clink*!
