My Mom passed away on May 8th 10 years ago. Every year on this weekend my siblings (and spouses and kids) and I have met at my parents' house and put my Mom's garden in. This is the first year we are not going. My sister is pregnant and can't fly, my brother was there in March for my father's 90th, and my daughter has swim lessons this morning, which means we wouldn't get there until late, not giving us enough time to buy and plant. My husband has agreed to build me a little memorial garden here, which I look forward to planting.
My husband tries to make Mother's Day special for me every year, but my mind is always elsewhere. I am going to let them make it special for me this year. Happy Mother's Day (tomorrow) to all those fabulous mothers out there, and as always to MY mother, who guides me in my every day. I love you! Peace to all, ~Dais |

Dais, I can relate somewhat to your situation (my mother passed away 15 years ago this past April). Enjoy the spoiling from your family on Mother's Day though. My husband took the kids shopping for Mother's Day. So I have the house all to myself. It's almost too quiet though. I'm doing laundry, and straightening things up as my husby is having friends over tonight (and then we're going to karaoke after I get home from church). A party without cake is really just a meeting |
