Neil Quotes
Often times, while reading, I will come across a sentence or a phrase that just stands out to me. Years ago I kept a journal of such quotes. Now I just think of them from time to time, and wish I remembered exactly where to find them.

I have found sentences, phrases, thoughts, etc. in Neil's books and on his website that really hit home for me. One was about "creating" that I loved, but will never find. So here's another:

From Bubba's Book Club, December 2010:

"...reading engages one’s inner eye, one’s imagination, like no other medium, and is the only way that other lives are truly embraced, taken into one’s own life."

Yeah. And in your own way, completely, without influence from others. (other than the author) So personal.

RE: Neil Quotes
Dias: Excellent. I don"t remember any quote so much as a moment in "Masked Ride.r" He mentions that while laying on his bed in a hotel room he could with ease touch three of the four walls in the room. That really put me in the room with him.

Oh wow. I have yet to read that one, but I look forward to it.

RE: Neil Quotes
"What is this handbasket, and where the hell are we going?"
from Masked Rider.

My brother used that as his email signature for years.

Thought it was, "Where the hell are we going - and why am I in this basket?"

RE: Neil Quotes
I think that the one description or phrase that stands out from "The Masked Rider" was his reference to a rice dish that was served a lot during that tour, "rice with junk on it". After that, my husby and I started using that phrase when describing a certain kind of sauce that we like to put on our rice.

Unfortunately, I don't have the book...just the quote that he used on the email. He had loaned me the book after I read "Ghostrider."

Bageleth "rice with junk in it" is another favorite quote.

So is the "anti destination league" slow drivers...from Roadshow.
Again, I don't have that book either. My brother the librarian loaned me that one too. I should really buy them.

RE: Neil Quotes
For me it would be one of the lyric qoutes at the beginning of a chapter in "Ghost Rider" as follows:
"Too many hands on my Time
Too Many Feelings-
Too Many Things on My mind
When I Leave I Don't Know
What I'm hoping To Find
When I leave I Don't Know
What I'm Leaving leaving Behind..."

This quote hit me like a lightning bolt.

Currently pursuing individuality.

That's why I never loan my books (or anything else) to friends.
