Canyon was talking about a scene in a mexican restaurant and how Bubba can describe things in a way that makes you feel as if you are there with him. Many of his songs touch me this way, but one in particular produces images and activates senses in my head which are almost overwhelming, "Lakeside Park" from Caress of Steel. When I listen to the song, I can close my eyes and see the crowds on the midway, and hear all the background noises from the games and merry-go-round. I can feel the breeze on the park shore and heat from the driftwood fire; I can smell the smoke on my clothes... The images are so vibrant that all of my senses contibute to the experience that I get when simply listening to a song.

I'm convinced that it's majic, LOL!

I love Lakeside Park, too. Very evocative lyrics. The line that always makes me tear up and do my own remembering is "...shining stars on summer nights." Takes me back to being 15 and lying under the stars with my first boyfriend, the summer sky full of stars....... *sigh*

Me too! Especially since the Cleveland show DVD has been pushed back to Nov. 8th. This will keep us so busy that we won't notice

Have you seen the chatter about the Cleveland DVD/show possibly being aired on VH1 Classic on Sept 28th? Don't know if it's true, but I still put it on my calendar......

Yes it is scheduled for the 28th at 8:00pm on VH1 Classic.I have set to record. After that VH1 is showing Beyond the Lighted Stage.
