"Strange" Cookbooks

RE: "Strange" Cookbooks
I volunteer at a local retirement "villa" by culling the old and unread books from their library. They earn credit in our used book department at the store, and buy new books to replace them. "Hey, we're old but that doesn't mean we stop reading!" I find some amazing titles on occassion. Such as Cocktail Guide and Ladies' Companion by Crosby Gaige. Published for Hussies and Homebodies by M. Barrows & Co. 1941. As humorist Dave Barry often says, "I am not making this up." Here's one from chapter 6: The Whiskey Rebellion named 'Millions for Defense'. 3/4 part Rye or Bourbon, 1/4 part orange Curacao, Dash of Grenadine, White of 1 Egg. Add ice, shake well and strain into large cocktail glass.

Season's Greetings!
