Anybody know anything about diabetic cookery?
Ok, so I got the bad news: Gestational diabetes. Old women should not have babies, I know!

Anyhoo, now I have to eat every three hours, stick my fingers four times a day and make 'smart' carb choices. Ergh.

Anybody have any tips, tricks, recipes, etc? I'd appreciate it...

My wife had that during both of our pregnancies. I'm certain that there are great recipes out there but here were some general guidlines from what I recall...

Fish, lean meats such as chicken, turkey-skin removed...watch the salt (problem for me as I love salt on meat), leafy green veggies, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach... avoid potatoes, corn, etc.

Be careful with fruits-limit intake. Cut out sugar (sugar in the coffee adds up-my weakness also!), cookies, cake, etc. No pizza! No soda! No fruit juice or punch. Lots of water!
